Calling All Boston Hawks Fans!

If you know me, then you know that I have been a fan of the Boston Hawks since January 2021. I have loved each book that has been released, and have eagerly anticipated all of them.

So today, I get to share with you the cover AND the teaser of The Trailblazer with you! And friends, The Trailblazer is a SECOND CHANCE ROMANCE! Just hand it over now! Seriously.

That is one gorgeous man on the cover! And can we talk about that teaser? Oooh, I am going to love this story, I can just tell.

Is it November 11th yet?

I always knew I’d marry my first everything, Declan Yaeger, the Southern boy with Irish roots. That was before he became my first heartbreak, a NHL superstar with a playboy reputation, I no longer recognize.

The summer he left our small, Tennessee town, to pursue his hockey dream is the summer my life changed. That was seven years ago, before he became a defenseman for the Boston Hawks. Before I became a hardened, desperate woman, trying to survive.

To protect my grandfather's legacy, I agree to marry my oldest childhood friend, Henry. But when I enter the Church on my wedding day, the grey eyes piercing mine aren’t my fiancés.

They belong to Declan, who shows up with an offer of his own. One I can’t refuse even though my heart knows better than to accept.

Will my marriage to Declan heal the broken between us? Or are we destined to repeat the mistakes of our past?

Tell Me You Want Me {a review}

I just read my first book from Willow Winters, and friends, I WILL be reading more!
Tell Me You Want Me is a workplace romance, and it I think you may enjoy it.

In Tell Me You Want Me, we have Suzette and Adrian. Adrian just bought the company that Suzette works for, and he is in the process of restructuring everything. Layoffs are happening, and there is rumor of a merger with another company. But before the layoffs start, there is a meeting. And at that meeting, you can feel the moment when Suzette and Adrian make eye contact for the first time. It is intense. Shortly after that moment is when things at the company are getting shaken up. Suzette is going to fight for her team tooth and nail. Before that can happen though, she and Adrian begin a little "after 6pm" tryst. The attraction between the two is strong, but Suzette still is worried about her job, and that of her coworkers. Nothing Adrian can say is putting her at ease. Can Suzette keep her job (and that of her team) as well as grow this relationship with Adrian? Or is it all destined to fall apart?

I had mixed thoughts about Tell Me You Want Me. One one hand I really enjoyed Suzette and Adrian as a couple. The chemistry was strong, and the steamy moments were fogging up the windows. I liked how they were able to keep their tryst to "after 6pm". Before then it was business as usual, after that was their time together.  They had that boundary set. As I said in my Goodreads mini review, I liked these two as a couple, but I struggled with Suzette. Everything for her, outside of the situation with Adrian, was about saving her job, and that of her coworkers. There was nothing else happening. So that made her a bit boring. Yes, it's a workplace romance, but we saw Adrian doing other things, and putting his out of office focus on those (granted they were business dealings, but it wasn't pertaining to the company that Suzette was working for). I wanted more of her life outside the office, and Adrian's bedroom. I struggled with that, and it definitely reflected in my rating. My rating by the way was 3.5 stars. Oh, and can we talk about that dramatic business moment that Adrian went through? LOVED THAT. From how it started, to the peak, to the conclusion, loved it.

Now the question comes of do I recommend Tell Me You Want Me. And honestly I don't know. If you're looking for a quick, steamy read? Then sure give it a go. If you're wanting a story that you feel connected to the characters? Then no I don't. I don't regret reading the book, not at all, it just didn't give me everything I wanted, so that makes it more difficult for me to suggest/recommend.

Thank you for taking time to read my thoughts,
Laura

I didn't get to where I am by being nice.

I'm the boss, the CEO, the owner of whatever I want. Right now, that includes every person in this building of the company I just bought.

I stop at nothing once I've decided I'm taking something.

And then she showed up... full of spitfire just for me, the man she's decided is her worst enemy.

Like I said, I stop at nothing once I've decided I'm taking something. This pretty little thing just moved to the top of my "must acquire" list.

Meet Willow

I started writing after having my little girl, Evie, December of 2015. All during my pregnancy with her I read. I only wanted to read romance novels and I read everything I could get my hands on. I would read a book a day -- sometimes two. In January I was staying up late with her and just thinking of all these stories. They came to me constantly. I finally sat down and just started writing. I always wanted to do it so I figured, why not?

I never thought I would reach this point of success to be honest. It's insane to me that I have connected with so many readers.

And I love each and every one of them for all of their support. I'll be honest, some days are HARD. I have my littles during the day and I write at night. Some days are just simply exhausting and then I hear from a reader and it motivates me to push through and keep writing. I couldn't be more grateful for this wonderful career.

Back to Home {a review}

If you are looking for a new contemporary romance to read that features the enemies to lovers trope, a small town setting, and has a little bit of suspense, then allow me to introduce you to BACK TO HOME by TC Matson. This is the third book in the Cameron Falls series, but don't let the word series throw you for a loop. These are very much standalone books, and you don't need to read Back to Me or Back to Us to understand what is going on.

In Back to Home we meet up with Cash. He has recently left the military, and is back home to 1) surprise his family, and 2) figure out what's next since his life in the military is over. Things that happened years ago, and prompted him to join the military, are still front and center in his mind. Yes he's changed, but he's still unsettled. Cash knows he didn't start that fire, yet so many people still blame him. When walking through town, Cash literally runs into a woman. Twice. Each time she has coffee in her hand as well. Cash doesn't know she is, but he is definitely curious. That woman is Aubrey. She has recently returned to Cameron Falls as her Grandfather left his house to her. So she's been living there and working with her Aunt. Moving back to Cameron Falls is Aubrey's attempt to heal from the trauma that she experienced years ago. This property that Aubrey lives at just so happens to be the property where the fire happened. Yes, that same fire that changed Cash's life. And these run-ins lead to Cash doing a little home repair for Aubrey. Cash feels it is the least he can do to make amends for the past. Never did they expect to fall for each other.

I was immediately hooked with Back to Home. Maybe it was Cash. Maybe it was his former profession. Maybe it's the small town setting. Maybe it is Aubrey and her profession. Maybe it's her hidden past. I can't really answer that. What I do know is that I adored Back to Home. From the way Cash surprised his family. To the instant connection he felt with Aubrey. To Aubrey returning to Cameron Falls and preparing to take over the bakery. To the random occasions that Cash and Aubrey ended up at the same place. To Aubrey's past trauma being brought front and center. To the way Cash helped Aubrey around her property. I enjoyed it all. Even the big dramatic moment for the couple, it was so good. Witnessing how each of them dealt with it, and the way it resolved. It just made me happy. This book was such an easy read, full of romance, and it also had the suspense element that I adore.

Highly recommend Back to Home. There is a content warning regarding Aubrey's past, so if you want to know what the warning is for, send me a message on Instagram, Facebook, or through email.

Thank you for taking time to read my thoughts,
Laura

I don’t go looking for trouble.
It finds me.

Cash
Eight years ago, I left Cameron Falls a screwup.
Now I’m back a changed man and determined to right all my wrongs.
What I don’t expect is running into a challenging blue-eyed, smart-mouthed beauty.
She hates me.
I’m intrigued by her.
Could be the scars.
Could be the fire.
Hell, could be that sexy scowl she always seems to carry.
Either way, I’m going to infiltrate her heart and chase away the demons lurking in the dark.

Aubrey
My life in Cameron Falls has been a quiet one.
I’ve stayed to myself and focused on taking over the bakery.
That’s until the infuriating man who burned down my grandfather’s barn comes swaggering back into town.
One run-in and he sets his sights on me with the drive to fix what he destroyed.
What I don’t expect is to fall victim to his charming ways and good looks.
He’s just supposed to fix the porch.
Instead, he’s lighting up a dark path.
Sleeping with the enemy wasn’t part of the deal.
Neither was falling for him.

Saving Brie {a review}

My name is Laura and I LOVE ROMANTIC SUSPENSE BOOKS!

After having read Saving Ariel, I knew that I was going to continue on with The One I Want series. I knew I was going to get some great suspense, and Saving Brie did not let me down. If you are looking for a strong female lead, a bit of instalove, and a some suspense, then be sure to go grab Saving Brie.

In Saving Brie, we have Brent Calloway who is determined to find a sunken ship. He has a rough idea of where it is, he has the boat to get there, and he has someone to dive with. What he doesn't have is a lot of time, and now someone to captain the boat. That is until he meets Brie Hamilton. She quickly puts him in his place regarding the fact that she is a woman in an industry filled with men. She informs him that she is more than capable of captaining his vessel, and after negotiating the job, she agrees to take on the task. It is after they are on the boat that the attraction starts ramping up for both of them. Then there is Brent's partner, and well he is trying to make his intentions clear as well. Thankfully Brie only has eyes for Brent (and her job). Soon enough the arrive to the coordinates that Brent has, and the diving begins. Can these two work together and put their feelings aside? Or will they end up falling for each other? No matter what, they are going to need to work together because trouble is headed their way.

Oh what to even say about Saving Brie? I mean obviously I enjoyed it. That goes without saying. I will say that Brie and Brent's introduction wasn't my favorite thing in the world, but at the same time it showed how feisty Brie is, and how she's not afraid to speak her mind when it comes to the things she is passionate about. She went toe to toe with Brent when she felt it was necessary. I liked how everything happened on the boat. From the discovery of what they were looking for, to the way things kept happening, to the big suspenseful moment. And oh that moment. That was something.  I mean I did kind of see that coming, but I doubted myself occasionally. Loved Brie and Brent together, and how everything happened with them.

If you are a fan of romantic suspense, you need to read this series! Start with Saving Ariel, as there is a slight tie in, but you will not regret it. If you do read Saving Brie (or Saving Ariel), let me know. I'd love to discuss. Also, keep an eye out for Saving Cate! It is releasing September 21, and it sounds AMAZING!

Thank you for taking time to read my thoughts,
Laura

Treasure hunting leaves little room for romance…

Brie Hamilton has learned to trust logic, not emotion. Fairy tale endings and love at first sight simply don’t exist. Then a sexy historian hires her to captain his research vessel and she starts to question everything—including why she shouldn’t sleep with her boss…

Brent Calloway has spent his career hunting for sunken treasure. Now, the biggest discovery of his life is finally within reach. When he suddenly loses his captain, he needs to scramble fast and find a replacement. He just never expected his new employee to be a woman. Now, the keys to the success of the entire operation—and maybe even his heart—are in her gorgeous, capable hands.

But treasure tends to attract trouble—and in this case, that means treacherous enemies and even a few modern-day pirates. Looks like Brie and Brent will have to fight more than the lure of forbidden desire if they want to find their happily ever after…

Saving Brie is a steamy, instalove, contemporary romantic suspense about love at first sight. It features a protective hero and the smart, feisty heroine who steals his heart.

(Saving Brie was originally published as Brent.)
