Something About You {a review}

Something About You by J. Nathan is now available! This new adult romance features two college students who could not be more opposite. It also involves a little blackmailing between our hero and heroine. So be prepared for that!

Something About You takes place at Cranmore University in Colorado. It is there that we first meet our characters. It is the start of a new school year, and Shay is getting settled into the dorms. The very first night there, she is greeted by the neighbor playing their music extremely loud. So she goes over and asks them to turn it down. That doesn't happen. But it is at this moment when she meets Kason for the first time. That introduction goes about as well as you can imagine. Needless to say the music becomes even louder. Fast forward a bit, and it turns out Kason is in the same physics class as Shay. She avoids him like the plague. A bit later, Shay attends a party with her roommate. Well it turns out that party is at Kason's. Shay drinks more than she should, and ends up crashing at the house. In a bed. With Kason. She's mortified. Kason leads her to believe that something happened between them, and he has it on video. Kason tells her he'll delete the video IF she tutors him in physics. And that is where this opposites attract romance begins.

Now it's been forever and a day since I've been in college, but life in the dorms doesn't really change much. So reading that Shay's experience with her neighbor had me chuckling a little bit. I found myself really enjoying the relationship between Kason and Shay. From the first impression, to the avoidance, to the blackmailing, to the hate, to the shift in their relationship, to what it ultimately becomes. I also found myself rooting for their relationship to work out. I mean a geek and a snowboarder? That deserves cheering on! Especially with all that Shay has been through in her life. She hasn't had it easy at all, so for someone to come along and sweep her off her feet? Yes. Just yes. Granted it isn't all a walk in the park. Oh no. These two have their moments where things are not all hunky dory, and you start to wonder if they'll get their HEA. All that Shay and Kason went through though was worth it for their relationship to become what it does. I was all in on this book, and could not put it down. Also, I am seriously hoping that J. Nathan writes another book featuring Kason's sister. I need that book!

If new adult romances featuring an athlete, a geek, the opposites attract trope, and/or the hate to love trope are things you enjoy, then go pick up Something About You!

Something About You by J. Nathan is now live!

Kason
I'm what you call a god, a superstar, a winner.

Being a professional snowboarder is my purpose in life.

I know exactly how to get what I want and I'm good at most everything I do.

I'm only at Cranmore University to appease my parents.

But, if I want to graduate, I need to pass physics.

And, since failing is not an option, blackmailing a nerd who hates me is my last resort.

Shay
I'm what some call a geek, a nerd, a loser.

And I don't care.

I know who I am.

I know where I come from.

And, I know exactly where I'm going.

That's why I'm at Cranmore University.

To get my degree and begin my life.

Only, that plan gets quickly derailed thanks to an unbecoming video, a blackmailing snowboarder, and his ex who's hell bent on making my life miserable.

They say everyone comes into your life for a reason.

What happens when that person is the opposite of what you want...

But exactly what you need?
