GORGEOUS COVER ALERT!

Once again, Jocelyne Soto's design team has hit it out of the park! I loved the cover for Vicious Union, and this cover for Violent Attraction is equally as gorgeous!

Reader friends, if you have not started the Flor de Muertos series, then you need to. If you enjoy mafia romances, then try this one. Flor de Muertos follows a drug cartel family, and it is so good.

Keep an eye out for Violent Attraction on October 19, 2021.

She was a Cartel Princess.

I was a soldier.

A helping hand.

A life that didn’t matter.

None of that stopped me from falling in love with her the first time I laid eyes on her.

This Cartel Princess was everything to me.

And I was able to show her, but only in secret.

After years of hiding I had finally found the courage to tell her father, but he announced he’d arranged a marriage for her.

One that will bound families.

One that is all about power and money.

The man that she is set to marry is a dangerous man.

He doesn’t love her.

He only wants her for the money and power that she comes with.

I need to try my hardest to stop this arrangement.

No matter how much blood I shed.

Isabella Morales is mine.

Keeping You by Daphne Elliot {a review}

Daphne Elliot's latest release, Keeping You, is a full-length, standalone, steamy, small town, slow burn, contemporary romance featuring a sassy heroine and a lovable alpharoll hero. May contain adult language, steamy moments in the barn, an angry rooster, a meet-puke, and lots of literal and figurative fireworks. HEA guaranteed.

Here we find Callum and Violet. Violet has recently returned to town after her marriage ended, and her husband was sent to prison. She is returning home to raise her boys on the same property she was raised on, and to take over the day to day farm operations. Violet has been back for about a year now, and there is one resident of Havenport that she's been avoiding. Who would that be? Callum. Also known as the man who broke her heart all those years ago, but she never knew why he did what he did. Turns out Callum has been avoiding her too. That is until he goes for a run one morning, after having drank quite a bit the night before, and ends up getting sick in her yard. It is Violet's boys who find Callum, and Violet quickly helps him out. Now these two have been reunited, and every time Callum attempts to apologize for any issue, things always seem to go wrong. He's determined to apologize, help Violet in anyway he can, and explain to her what happened all those years ago. Of course he'd also love it if they could have a second chance.

Keeping You had me laughing, swooning, eye-rolling, and crying at various times throughout the book. I mean the initial meet-cute between our characters has me laughing. Straight out of a rom-com movie I tell ya. I loved the history that these two had. Then there was their relationship building back up. From acquaintances to friends to lovers, it just felt right. I loved how Violet was there for Callum, and how Callum was there for Violet. These two just worked, and their story felt authentic, as though it could truly happen this way. When Callum explained why he missed the dance all those years ago, my heart broke. I knew it was something major that kept him away, but I wasn't fully prepared for what he admitted. My heart went out to Callum right away. Then when his dad said what he did, I lost it. The tears flowed, and I fell for these characters. I loved how Callum helped Violet get the farm back into shape, and introduced Violet to the amazing women who really made it happen. It gave Violet a group that she needed. It gave her support, and people to bounce ideas off of. Callum's grand gesture, after their big ordeal, just warmed my heart. He worked his butt off to get this information processed, and discovered some shocking things. I just loved how their story played out, and I was so glad they had their HEA at the end.

If you are looking for a second chance, small town romance that has a unique meet-cute, then give Keeping You a read. I absolutely loved it all: the settings, the characters, the story, all of it.

Thank you for taking time to read my thoughts. Congrats on your latest book release, Daphne Elliot!
Laura

She was my first crush, my first kiss, and my first heartbreak. Can I win her over and get my second chance?

Callum Quinn is handsome, successful, and adored in the small town of Havenport, Massachusetts. But below the surface? He’s struggling with crushing anxiety. An unplanned and embarrassing encounter with his high school love inspires him to take a chance and get out of his comfort zone.

Violet Thompson is overwhelmed. Being a single mom and keeping her family’s farm afloat leaves her too busy to even think about romance. So the last thing she needs is a run-in with the guy who broke her heart in high school.

Violet needs help saving her family’s farm. Callum needs to loosen up and have a little fun. They are both in need of a friend. But when the white-hot chemistry between them is too much to bear, they find themselves giving in to temptation. Violet can’t lose focus, and Callum is the very definition of a sexy distraction…

What happens when a roll in the hay turns into something more?

Don't sleep with the nanny.

That should be a simple rule to follow, but some things are easier said than done.
Especially when the nanny I hire to take care of my wild child daughter turns out to be the one I can't forget.

The woman I shared a red-hot anonymous kiss with a few weeks ago when we were trapped in an elevator? Yeah, seems she's one and the same--sweet, sexy, irresistible Daisy.

When she shows up in town, fresh-faced and ready to care for my kid, it hits me like a kick from a stubborn mare. I'm in way over my head.

I've been fantasizing about seeing my elevator woman again. And now I'm seeing her every damn day at the breakfast table, or at the playground with my adorable daughter.

Daisy is exactly what my little girl needs.

But every day I spend with Daisy makes me want her more, only I can't have her.

I won't risk breaking the unbreakable rule to take a chance at love.

Until the night I do.

The Setup and the Substitute by Jiffy Kate {a review}

I know I've said it a few times recently, but I LOVE the athlete/nanny stories that have been coming out lately! I am here for it. I have thoroughly enjoyed the majority of those I've read. So it's of no surprise that I fully enjoyed The Setup and the Substitute by Jiffy Kate. This baseball romance just released on September 16, and I highly suggest that you go pick it up.

Imagine falling in love, having a couple of children, and then the woman you're with decides she is done. She up and leaves the family, which just decimates everything. With time, you find yourself signing a contract with baseball team out of New Orleans, uprooting your family, and eventually all is going in the right direction. Until your nanny quits. It is shortly there after, during pickup at your daughter's school, that you are introduced to a substitute teacher. Her temporary assignment is almost up, and she is wondering where she'll go next. Naturally your daughter throws out the suggestions that she could be the new nanny! You ignore it, until you realize that maybe your kid is on to something. That is what happens with Owen and Sophie. They were brought together by his kids needing a nanny, and her needing a stable job. They were no expecting to fall for each other. Yet there is a spark. Things are going smoothly until a familiar face appears.

I loved this book. I loved every.single.part of it. From how the first relationship ended (difficult to read about, but necessary), to the new beginnings in New Orleans, to meeting Sophie, to Sophie falling for the kids, to the eventual relationship between Owen and Sophie. But THEN when that person shows up, game changer. This appearance added that extra little bit that just made this story soar a bit higher. It made me love it that much more. I said it in a previous review that i wanted something like this to happen in that book, but it didn't. So when it did in The Setup and the Substitute, I was oh so happy! That was the drama I needed in the story, and it was so good. That whole scenario then brought on the big moment of conflict for Owen and Sophie, and oh what a conflict it was. Yeah. It was a lot. But the way everything was handled had me loving it. Seriously.

Loved the book. Loved the setting. Loved the characters. All of it was so dang good. Kudos to Jiffy Kate on a fantastic story. I highly recommend you pick up The Setup and the Substitute. It was a quick and easy read, and you'll get your HEA at the end.

Thank you for taking time to read my thoughts. I greatly appreciate it.

Laura

He’s a single dad trying to make it in the Major Leagues and she’s a substitute teacher looking for her next adventure.

Owen Thatcher has been ghosted by his ex, leaving him to pick up the pieces of their family in the midst of being traded to a new team. After striking out with nanny after nanny, he’s desperate to create a stable life for his two kids.

Sophie Callahan comes from an affluent family but this free spirit is nothing like the stereotypical trust fund baby. While she waits on the perfect job to open up, she’s making it work as a substitute teacher.

But a ruggedly handsome baseball player makes her an offer she can’t refuse.

And it’s a whole new ball game when these attractive, available adults are under one roof.

Coming Soon from Krista Sandor!

Krista Sandor has revealed the cover for
The Nanny and the Hothead! Are you ready for this second book in the Nanny Love Match series? I know I am!

The Nanny and the Hothead is releasing on October 14, 2021!

Photographer: 6:12 Photography
Cover Designer: Najla Qamber Designs

Charlotte Ames despises hotheads. You know the type. The growly, perma-scowling bully who blows his top at the slightest inconvenience. And her former boss, Top Chef Mitch Elliott, is the king of all hotheads.

How big of a jerk is he? Big enough to make her hurl a salad at the guy.
Those vegetables didn't ask to be strewn across the floor. But Mitch deserved it!

Is he devastatingly handsome when he loses his cool? Could his stormy blue eyes, flashing with passion, melt the panties right off a gal? That would be a yes. Still, she can't stand him. And she'd thought she'd seen the last of the culinary creep.

She was wrong.

On the cusp of eviction and with five bucks to her name, she needs a job.

Enter the exclusive Nanny Match Agency and an opportunity to make some real cash.

Sounds great, right? Wrong again!

The universe has one messed-up sense of humor. When she wakes up after a margarita bender and learns she's become the hothead's nanny, life goes topsy-turvy! But when the nanny dust settles, she sees another side of the man. A man who might be more than a hothead. A man who gazes at her with such intensity, she can barely keep from combusting.

Don't fall for the hotheaded chef.
Her head knows what to do. If only she could convince her heart.

Could this nanny match be the match that changes everything, or will it get too hot in the kitchen for the nanny and the hothead?

The Lie by Karla Sorensen {a review}

The Lie by Karla Sorensen is a brand new football romance, and it was so dang good! If you are looking for a grumpy/sunshine book, with a bit of forced proximity mixed in, then I hope you'll read The Lie.

Dominic and Faith met each other a few years ago on the internet. They started talking, and would share tidbits about their lives with each other. They only knew their screen names though, no real names were exchanged, nor much detail about their lives. So when Dominic signs a contract for a professional football team, and ends up needing to do a little community service, he meets Faith. There is an instant connection between the two, even though Dominic is a giant ass. He has this chip on his shoulder, and Faith is doing her best to just get him to participate. Never did she think that working with a little girl would make this man shut down. Faith found herself wondering what the story was there. Dominic pushed through, and pushed those memories away to focus on the task at hand. Days later, Dominic realizes that he "knows" Faith. No not the Faith that is here in front of him, but rather the woman she is online. He has put two and two together, and he is determined to have a relationship with her. Faith though is still in the dark about Dominic being her "Nick", and also has a self-imposed rule about never dating an athlete. Been there, done that, don't want to do it again. Yet she is drawn to Dominic. Will Dominic ever tell Faith the truth? Can these two have a relationship? Can Dominic ever heal from his past?

This book made me cry a few times. Dominic talking about his sister, and his family, just had me weeping. I can't help it. It just happened. I really enjoyed The Lie. The fact that it is a football romance helped, but I think even if Dominic hadn't been a professional football player I would have enjoyed it. His profession doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things. It's his life, and his experiences that drew me in. Then there was Faith, and she just seems like a fantastic person who isn't completely aware of how capable she is in regards to her job. I think she's also uncomfortable with who her dad is, and the financial aspect of her life. She comes across as a woman who would rather blend in than standout, but with a professional athlete as a parent, blending in isn't really an option. The first meet up at the community center broke me. The way that Dominic reacted to his assignment crushed me. I could feel his pain, his fear, his nervousness. He did not want to do it at all, and it was honestly difficult for him because it brought back memories. I really liked Faith and Dominic together, and was cheering them on throughout the book. After the dramatic moment happened, and Dominic went home to see his parents, I didn't know what was going to happen next. When he talked to his parents about it, and then went to the owner of the football team, the tears came again. It was just so emotional for me, and honestly as I write this I feel the tears welling up. I can't help it.

Go read this book. I think you'll like Dominic and Faith. Especially if you like the grumpy/sunshine trope, because these two fit it perfectly. Oh and if you're wondering about what the lie was, well....it has to do with their big dramatic moment, so I won't say any more about it.

Thank you for stopping by to read my jumbled up thoughts on The Lie by Karla Sorensen.

Laura

Rule number 1 for the team owner’s daughter? Don’t date the players.

Especially not hotheaded tight ends with tattoos and impulse control problems.

That's why Dominic Walker is completely off my radar. Sort of.

Babysitting the team troublemaker when he's forced to volunteer for the foundation where I work means I can't exactly avoid him.

I wish I had though. Because once I get to know Dominic, it's almost impossible to ignore the feelings he brings out in me.

Pretty soon, I'm breaking all my rules.

I just have to hope he doesn't break my heart in the process.
