Wild Ride {a review}

Oh my heart! We're returning to Montana and the Rykers! Not only that, we're getting together with the Wildes. Yep, those would be the same Wildes that are rivals with the Rykers.

Wild Ride is the latest release by Kim Loraine, and this is the first full length book in the new Wilde Horse Ranch series! It is kicking off by giving Sera Ryker her HEA! Sera is in Vegas for a promotional event for her family's reality tv show. It is there that she runs into Sutton Wilde. After one wild night, these two wind up married. Not only that, but their marriage has hit all the news sources. There's no annulling this marriage, at least not for the next 30 days. Otherwise it would do damage to the show, and Sera doesn't want to hurt her family.

Now, I loved every minute of the Ryker Ranch series, so I had high hopes for Wild Ride. Wild Ride did not disappoint. Sera and Sutton are amazing together. I loved reading their journey towards their HEA. I loved that we went back to the Ryker Ranch, and got to "see" all those familiar faces. I mean I knew that would happen since this is kind of a crossover, but still. I also enjoyed learning about the past between the Rykers and the Wildes. Witnessing the relationship between Sera and Sutton change was amazing. I mean they've always had an interest in each other, so it was only natural that that attraction would grow. I just loved every single moment. And now, I'm really curious about who is getting their story told next. Is it July yet?

I am loving these contemporary western/cowboy romances that Kim Loraine is creating. If cowboy/western romances are something you are in to, then I highly recommend Wild Ride. But I do suggest starting with the Ryker Ranch series first, so that you history of the characters. (psst: Saddle Up, aka Ryker Ranch #1, is currently a free download on Amazon, so go grab it.)

Thank you for taking time to read my thoughts,

Wild Ride by Kim Loraine is now live!

I have thirty days to make my wife fall in love with me.

The biggest rivalry in Sunrise, Montana is the feud between the ranch families of the Rykers and the Wildes. And it's only grown stronger over the years.

So what happens when a Wilde and a Ryker wake up in Vegas, in the same bed, hungover, and...married?

Sutton Wilde and Sera Ryker are in for one Wild Ride.

Bucket List Rule #1: Be careful who finds your list.

Oops.

As the future CEO of my grandmother’s fashion empire, I’m not supposed to want to design a line of fancy dresses for girls with special needs. But when I pull out all the stops and present my vision to my grandmother, she agrees to let me try on one very questionable condition.

The condition?

I have to complete every item on the bucket list I wrote in college.

Challenge accepted.

Only, this is the same bucket list that includes going on a date with a hot hockey player, riding a horse, kissing in front of the Eiffel Tower…oh, and finding a husband.

The first one is where NHL player Eli Lawson comes in.

***

When my matchmaking mother sets me up with a date for my cousin’s wedding, I tell her the only thing I can…that I’m bringing my girlfriend.

Except, I don’t have one.

And I certainly don’t have someone who will spend a week with me in Copper Creek, Montana for the wedding festivities.

When workaholic Nala Johnson wins a date with me at a charity auction, I think I’ve found the perfect solution to my problem. Even better when she tells me about her bucket list. Because I’m just the man to help her with it.

I mean, how difficult can it be to find her a husband?

Cocky Gamer {a review}

Happy Sunday everyone!

Today Cocky Gamer by Lauren Helms is available! This book is part of the Cocky Hero Club. It features a missed connections and a long distance romance.

Ben is a professional video game player who is starting to consider retirement. With that comes what happens next for him in regards to a career. Right now though he's freelancing with a video game company. They have him doing voice over work, and he's enjoying it.

Kelly is an admin assistant, and she's miserable at her current company. She's in need of a change and is struggling to find something she is passionate about. That is until her friend has a job opening at her animal rescue.

Ben has traveled out to California (from Chicago) to start his voice over job, and is at the Melting Moon Café with his friend Garland. While there a couple is having a disagreement, and suddenly another woman comes crashing into that couple spilling her coffee everywhere. She offers her apologies and then quickly exits the building. Ben is curious about that mystery woman.  She definitely made an impression upon him in that short time. Ben runs into the mystery woman again a little bit later at Club Punch, but they never exchange phone numbers. So much continues to happen that thwarts any plans that Ben has for connecting with Kelly.

Cocky Gamer was FABULOUS. I have not read any of the Cocky Bastard books, nor any of the books from the Cocky Hero Club, but damn if I don't want to now! This story was just missed connection after missed connection. Then when things finally started happening, there was issues with communication. Yet there was something that just kept pushing Ben and Kelly together. They were meant to be. And I absolutely loved this book! I want more of these two, and all the side characters.

If you're looking for a relatively quick, easy read that has plenty of romance then go read Cocky Gamer by Lauren Helms. Trust me!

Thank you for reading my thoughts,

Goodbye is a Second Chance {a review}

Are you a fan of Rockstar romances? How about friends to enemies to lovers? Forced proximity? Opposites attract? A little slow burn? Then keep on reading!

Goodbye is a Second Chance is the first book in the new Sons of Sins series by Nola Marie!

The Sons of Sins consists of Ryder, Maddox, Dane, and Angel. These guys are getting ready to head out on tour, but before they do, they are filming a video for their latest single. When Josephine walks in with Camilla (their handling wardrobe for the band), Angel is shocked, angry, and hurt. He and Josephine (Josie only to him) used to be friends, and he doesn't know what happened to end that. Now though, now they are enemies and want nothing to do with each other. When Josephine spots Angel, she's immediately on edge and the memories of time long gone come flooding back in. So what happened between these two? Will they survive being stuck on tour together?

Goodbye is a Second Chance was a good read. Throughout the book I found myself wondering what would happen next, and how the story would play out. Since this book was my introduction to Nola Marie, I wasn't certain if I would get my HEA or not, but it's definitely there. Having read the book, I am finding myself really curious about Ryder, Maddox, and Dane. I want to know their stories. But I also know that they are future books, so I need to be patient. What can I even say about Angel and Josephine? They've been friends since they were babies. They've been through so much together. Angel knew that Josephine loved him back in high school. He was always the one quieting the people who would bully her. Their connection is just amazing. Now as adults they both have issues to work through, and neither wants to talk about it with the other. At times I found myself frustrated with these two. Yes, Josephine has been hurt in the past, but my mind just cannot wrap my head around the fact that she's still holding on to all of that 10 years later. Same goes for Angel.

Now don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the book. It was just their inability to willingly communicate that was frustrating to me. I loved when Josephine finally blew up and just laid it all out there. I loved the song that Angel wrote. I loved the little concert at the end. And now I'm really curious about Dane and Cami. They had better be the second book.

When it's all said and done, I chose to give Goodbye is a Second Chance 4 stars.

Should you choose to read the book, I'd love to hear your thoughts on it. Just know that these rockstars definitely live up to their stereotype, so there is sex, drugs, and rock n roll throughout the book.

Thank you for reading my thoughts,

Sons’ of Sin- the hottest new band on tour. But their bassist strums a sour chord when he gets a glimpse of their wardrobe assistant.

Angel

Betrayal after betrayal leaves me knowing damn well women can’t be trusted for more than a good time and a quick goodbye.

Now, I live for my music, my band, and the highs of rock n roll.

Seeing her again after all these years is like a kick in the balls.

Over and over again.

I never understood what happened all those years ago.

I just know this girl broke my damn heart and left me feeling abandoned like no other.

Now with her front and center every day, I will get the answers I deserved all those years ago.

Josie

How do you recover when your life it torn apart?

I should be an old hand at it, with my past.

But now, I’m as close to rock bottom as I can get without crashing.

I don’t know if I can handle even one more thing going wrong.

And then I see him again.

What do you get when you run into the man that you hate more than anything?

You avoid eye contact.

That is until you can't.

Now I'm stuck working for his band while they tour the country.

Being around Angel brings back so many memories and a lot of insecurities I thought I was over, and I know I’m not going to come out intact...

I'm not sure how long this will last without one of us killing the other.

Two damaged souls, once bound by friendship and love, torn apart by deceit.

Now the bitterest of enemies, Josie and Angel are forced into daily contact. Forced to spend time together. Forced to face a painful past. But will taking a chance on their future mean saying goodbye to their past, or to each other?
