Redemption {cover reveal & teaser}

LOOK at that cover for Redemption!

Laura Lee's brand new book, Redemption, will be released on April 11, 2021. I peeked at the early reviews over on Goodreads, and from what I glanced at, Redemption is going to be Ah-maz-ing. (and no, I didn't read the reviews, because I don't want anything spoiled for me!)

What I can tell you is that Redemption is a second chance romance, and it is set in Corinne Michaels' Salvation Society world. Other than that the only thing I know about this book is what the teaser tells me, and from what I watched in the trailer video. So if you're curious, keep on reading, and watch the trailer!

I fell in love with Beckett Armstrong before either one of us knew what that meant.

He was my first kiss.

My first love.

My entire world.

We promised each other forever, and we meant it wholeheartedly. But unfortunately, when tragedy struck, love wasn't nearly enough to save us.

Little did we know...it would only get worse from there.

Twelve years later, Beckett and I wear our scars like finely crafted armor. We've been in survival mode for so long, we've forgotten how to live. After everything we've endured, can we move beyond the pain to forge a future together?

Or are we destined to repeat the mistakes of our past?

Oh my word! It is sounding like we're going to need to have the tissues close by for this book! (okay maybe I'll be the only one affected.)

One last thing before I share some links with you. There is a content warning on Redemption. What I know is that the book contains graphic scenes that some readers may find triggering. What does that mean exactly? I'm not sure, but once I read the book I will be able to fill you in. (so check out my review later this month)

About the author:

Laura Lee is the USA Today bestselling author of steamy and sometimes ridiculously funny romance.

She won her first writing contest at the ripe old age of nine, earning a trip to the state capital to showcase her manuscript. Thankfully for her, those early works will never see the light of day again!

Laura lives in the Pacific Northwest with her wonderful husband, two beautiful children, and three of the most poorly behaved cats in existence. She likes her fruit smoothies filled with rum, her cupboards stocked with Cadbury’s chocolate, and her music turned up loud. When she’s not writing or watching HGTV, she’s reading anything she can get her hands on. She’s a sucker for spicy romances, especially those that make her laugh.

Goodbye is a Second Chance {cover reveal & teaser}

Nola Marie has a new book coming out in May! Take a look at this cover for Goodbye is a Second Chance. Right off the bat you know you're getting a rockstar romance. I don't know about you, but I do quite enjoy a good rockstar romance every now and then.

You already know I have a teaser for you. So IF you're curious about the book, keep on reading.

Sons' of Sin- the hottest new band on tour. But their bassist strums a sour chord when he gets a glimpse of their wardrobe assistant.

Angel
Betrayal after betrayal leaves me knowing damn well women can't be trusted for more than a good time and a quick goodbye. Now, I live for my music, my band, and the highs of rock n roll. Seeing her again after all these years is like a kick in the balls. Over and over again. I never understood what happened all those years ago. I just know this girl broke my damn heart and left me feeling abandoned like no other. Now with her front and center every day, I will get the answers I deserved all those years ago.

Josie
How do you recover when your life is torn apart? I should be an old hand at it, with my past. But now, I'm as close to rock bottom as I can get without crashing. I don't know if I can handle even one more thing going wrong. And then I see him again. What do you do when you run into the man you hate more than anything? You avoid eye contact. That is until you can't. Now I'm stuck working for his band while they tour the country. Being around Angel brings back so many memories and a lot of insecurities I thought I was over, and I know I'm not going to come out intact. I'm not sure how long this will last without one of us killing the other.

Two damaged souls, once bound by friendship and love, torn apart by deceit. Now the bitterest of enemies, Josie and Angel are forced into daily contact. Forced to spend time together. Forced to face a painful past. But will taking a chance on their future mean saying goodbye to their past, or to each other?

We are getting so much more than a second chance romance! It is sounding like it is also falling into the enemies to lovers and forced proximity tropes. YES! Bring it on.

Sweetened {Cover Reveal & Teaser}

Look at this beautiful cover for Annie Dyer's upcoming release, Sweetened! Wait a minute, do I see alpacas on the cover?!

Sweetened is the FIFTH book in the Severton Search and Rescue series, and it will be released on April 14, 2021. In this book we will get to read about Jake and Lainey.

Curious about the book? Well good news, I have a teaser for you.

Winning will never taste so sweet...

Lainey Green has got exactly what she wants--the dream location for her equine therapy centre and a place to settle down and call home.

Unfortunately for Jake Maynard, that home is the farm he desperately wanted, and the alpaca owning, farm running, town Romeo isn't about to be on the welcoming committee for Lainey anytime soon.

Irritation turns into rivalry, which morphs into something else entirely. And pretty soon Jake Maynard is well on the way to hanging up his playboy ways for good. Lainey is the only prize he's interested in winning. Now all he has to do is persuade his feisty, independent neighbour to feel the same about him.

Annie has a freebie for you too! If you sign up to receive her newsletter, you'll receive the novella Ridden. Now, if you're anything like me (enjoys a good series, wants more of the characters, etc), I'm sure you'll be signing up for that newsletter!

Waiting Game {a review}

Hello reader friends,

Excuse me while I pick my jaw up off the ground.

OH THIS BOOK SERIES!

Lisa Suzanne is doing an amazing job at torturing me, and I'm loving it. I'm so freaking invested in Ellie and Luke's story, and I cannot wait to see how everything is wrapped up in End Game. There had better be some answers to the questions that are rolling around my head. Also, I think I want a story (okay fine, series) about Jack Dalton. Sorry, not sorry.

If you've been on this Vegas Aces journey with me, then you already know that this is a continual story. Each book has ended in a cliffhanger, and I haven't really been able to tell you anything about the story since Home Game. I mean if I were to, there would be spoilers, and we can't have that.

The blurb for Waiting Game is included below, but friends, there was some big things that happened in Waiting Game. Michelle made an appearance. Jack made an appearance. Drama was all over the freaking place. And I want more. Now I will say that this book didn't end where I thought it was going to. I thought for sure when the big event happened, that that would be where it ended. I'm not complaining, not at all. I mean if I could stay in Ellie and Luke's world for a bit longer, I gladly would. How the book ended though, I can see why Lisa had us stick around for a few more minutes.

Is it April 15 yet?

Have you picked up the Vegas Aces series? I think you should!

Happy Reading,

Thank you to Lisa Suzanne, and Wildfire Marketing for an advanced readers copy of Waiting Game.
A positive review was not required, and you know me I'd be honest if I didn't like a book.

February Top 5

Well this post is a little over due. I had originally planned on this going live at the beginning of March, yet here we are. Oops. That's what happens though when you take two weeks off. So yeah.

Before we move into my top 5 reads for February, let's take a look at my stats.

In February, I read 23 books, which was 5,587 pages, and 2 hours of audio.

The book breakdown is:
  • 10 advanced reader copies
  • 5 physical (library) books
  • 7 kindle books I purchased
  • 1 audio book from scribd
Let's talk ratings. My average rating was 3.7⭐️

Breaking it down a bit further, we have
  • 1 - Five Star
  • 17 - Four Star
  • 4 - Three Star
  • 1 - One Star
Now to be fair, that one star was a DNF, and I felt it needed to be rated. But we're not going to talk about that.

My longest book read in February was, Wake My Heart by Lydia Michaels. It was 406 pages.
My shortest book read in February was, Second Chance Sweetheart by Charity Ferrell. It was 64 pages.

In February, I read 13 new to me authors! OH MY WORD! That's awesome.

The time has come to talk about my top 5 books for February. After a lot of back and forth, I've settled upon my list.

5) Take A Hint, Dani Brown

by Talia Hibbert

Take a Hint, Dani Brown drew me in. It moved fast, the characters were personable, and I just loved it. The relationship between Zaf and Dani was adorable. I loved the fake dating aspect of their story. Then of course there is the Brown Sisters. These ladies are just fantastic, and bring a smile to my face. Zaf and his love of romance novels had me smiling as well. He would fit in great with the guys from the Bromance Book Club.

Oh and I'm 95% certain that Dani is my favorite of the Brown sisters.

4) Intercepted

by Alexa Martin

Intercepted is such a fantastic book. Heck the entire Playbook series is amazing.

I freaking loved Intercepted. LOVED IT. I fully believed it had the potential to be a 5 star read. And honestly, it probably should have been. But there was something in the last third of the book that had me wavering.

No matter what though, my thoughts about wanting to have physical copies of this series holds true.

3) Undercover Bromance

by Lyssa Kay Adams

I had been wanting to read Undercover Bromance since March 2020 when it was released. I absolutely loved Bromance Book Club, and had high hopes for its sequel. Yet for some reason I kept pushing it off. That changed in February 2021.

I had originally thought Undercover Bromance was going to be a sports romance, but I was wrong about that. And I'm perfectly okay with that.  It truly did not matter because the content of the book pushed all those other thoughts out of my mind.

Liv and Mack could not have been better paired. These two are the embodiment of enemies to lovers. I still think about Undercover Bromance, and it's been over a month since I read the book!

So good, and highly recommend.

2) Balls to the Wall

by April Canavan

If you recall my review of Balls to the Wall, then you might remember me telling you to have tissues handy for this book. I stand by that recommendation. Heck I was tearing up within the first couple of pages. I also briefly told you there were content warnings, and again if you need to know specifics, let me know. (I don't want to spoil anything)

This small town, second chance, romance gutted me. Heck within the first few pages I was tearing up.

Parker, Remy, and Nox have stolen my heart. Balls to the Wall was the first book in the Birch Police Department series, and I cannot wait to see more of these characters in future books. I'm sure I will fall even further for them as they help their friends out (and witness them fall in love).

So what book made the top of my list?

1) Make It Sweet

by Kristen Callihan

Now let me just say, Make It Sweet was my ONLY five star read for the month of February, and that was what helped to push it past Balls to the Wall to take the number one spot.

This love story grabbed me from the beginning. We get to see Emma and Lucian's relationship building, but we also see them grow individually. They are both gaining confidence to get back out there with their careers. The spark that these two have is off the charts.  So much steam in this book.

The fact that Make It Sweet has a bit of a sports romance thing going on definitely influenced my love of the book, but really it was just Lucian and Emma that sealed the deal. In the beginning we had two hurt people trying to heal. In the end, well, there is love.
