Tight Spot by Lisa Suzanne {a review}

I did it! I read Tight Spot by Lisa Suzanne, and what a start to the new season! Oofta. If you're not aware, Tight Spot is the first book in the Vegas Aces: Tight End series. This is the third season, and it is going to be just as drama filled as the previous two. Also, please note that each book in this series (with the exception of #5) will end in a cliffhanger. Don't worry though, you get a new release every two weeks! So you don't have to wait long for the next installment.

What is Tight Spot about? Well, Ben Olson of course. He is a professional football player for the Vegas Aces, and he has been labeled with the "bad boy" persona. Ben doesn't really have an issue with this. He's just having fun. You know who does have an issue with it? The team owner. He wants Ben to clean up his image. As you can imagine, Ben isn't thrilled about this. Yet, he loves his job, and being a part of the Aces. So he's going to give it a try. Enter the plan that his PR person has created. Ben is about to be set up in a fake relationship. Who is his "love interest" going to be? Kaylee Dalton of course. Yes, that would be Luke and Jack's little sister. This age gap romance is going to be a wild ride. But what drama is going to unfold? You know it's coming, but what will it be? How will this affect Ben and Kaylee's "relationship"? How will this "relationship" affect Ben's friendship with Luke and Jack?

Reader friends, I freaking loved this book! Not only does it feature one of my favorite tropes (sibling's best friend), but it is also an age gap, AND a fake romance. Bring it on! I am here for it. If you're wondering what the age gap is, we are looking at about 10 years. Which seems pretty typical with other books I've read.

Ben and Kaylee have known each other for a decade now. Kaylee is someone that Ben has always considered to be like a little sister, so there was no attraction what so ever. Yet lately his thoughts have been changing, and he isn't certain what to think of it. As for Kaylee, she has her sights set on Ben. Even if it's just for a short term fling, she's willing to give it a go. Outside of all of that, Kaylee is struggling with her decision to become a teacher. She's feeling that stress, and so when a new opportunity is tossed her way, she's going all in. Even more so since she'll be forced to spend time with Ben. These two are going to be such a wild ride. I can feel the attraction, the chemistry, the desire, the curiosity. I cannot wait to find out what happens next with them.

One thing I noticed throughout this book is that Kaylee is pretty ignored in her family. Yes, she's the youngest. Yes, her brothers are professional football players. Yes, they also have kids. So naturally she's not going to be in the spotlight. Yet they've almost taken a disinterest in her life. They don't know what she's dealing with at work, or the questions she is trying to answer regarding her future. But then there's Ben who is more than willing to listen, and offer support. Ben see's her not only as a person, but also as someone he is starting to take an interest in. Kaylee of course can reciprocate on that, and she does her best.

I cannot wait to see how Ben and Kaylee's story plays out. I am ready for the drama filled moments, the romance, the steam, and everything else that happens in the Vegas Aces series. Also, I need to read Tight Hold so I can find out what happens next! Even more so since this plan has been set into motion, and a hiccup has already presented itself.

AHHHHH!

If you are a fan of football romances, age gap romances, the sibling's best friend trope, or forced proximity, then you need to go read Tight Spot. I think you'll find yourself curious about Ben, Kaylee, and all the supporting characters. Now of course if you've read the previous two seasons of the Vegas Aces, then I highly suggest you pick up this third season. It's worth it. I promise.

Thank you for taking time to read my thoughts. Please let me know if you've read the book, and what your thoughts are.

I don’t date football players.

I’m not interested in the ones who are a decade older than me. I want nothing to do with the ones who play on the same team as my brothers, and I certainly avoid the ones who spend more time in strip clubs than kids’ clubs.

So why do I suddenly find myself faking a relationship with Ben Olson, the bad boy tight end who fits every descriptor on my naughty list?

He’s in a tight spot, and I’m intrigued by the illicit under the dinner table action that proved to me he’s nothing but trouble. He’s hot and I’m bored. He doesn’t do relationships, and I’m just looking for some fun.

Except fun is taking a quick turn into real feelings, and now I’m in a tight spot of my own.

THE SCORECARD by Maren Moore is coming April 8!

#PreOrderHere:

https://geni.us/scorecard

Pretending to be married to my brother’s best friend and my biggest enemy is the last thing I imagined I’d be doing.

But there was a thin line between lust and hate, and when I fell into bed with the NHL’s rookie playboy, I found out just how easy that line got blurred.

We were enemies with benefits, but then two pink lines changed it all.

Now he was bringing me back home to his family’s farm and faking it became real… in more ways than one.

He was meant to be the enemy but falling for him meant letting him win.

Natasha Madison Announcement!!!

As you know, I am OBSESSED with all the hockey romance series that Natasha Madison has created. Okay fine, not just the series, but the characters as well.

With the current series, Only One, about to come to an end, I was wishing for news of a spin off. Well, imagine my surprise when I scrolled through Facebook, and came across an announcement from Natasha Madison in the Natasha Madison's Maniacs group!

Natasha is getting started on Made For Me!

She has said that this is a spin off of the Only One series, and as of right this moment, that's all I know. No clue who our main characters are. No clue if we are staying with the Dallas Oilers. All I know is that the ROUGH release date is December 27, 2022.

So go add Made For Me to your Want To Read shelf on Goodreads, and join me as I eagerly anticipate this new spin off!

Sneaking Around with #34 by Piper Rayne {a review}

Have you been missing the guys from Florida Fury? Well the time has come to reconnect with the team! Sneaking Around with #34 is the latest addition to Piper Rayne's Hockey Hotties series, and it is quite the ride.

Going into this book I wasn't certain what to expect. Obviously there had been history between Imogen and Warner, but what exactly was it? Why was Ford so angry with Warner?

Well once I got started, I found that I couldn't put down the book. Sneaking Around with #34 featured two of my favorite tropes (second chance romance & brother's best friend). It also mixed in some hate to love, and I was here for it.

Warner and Imogen have quite the history! Now that he's been traded to Florida, and she is working for the Fury, they are being forced to spend time together. Especially since the team has plans for Warner, and Imogen is able to talk him into working with her. Ford and Warner are still at odds, and it is showing. Their teamwork is nonexistent, and it is frustrating for everyone.

Loved getting to watch Imogen and Warner find their way back to each other, all while hashing out what happened in the past. Turns out there was a lot more to the story, and another person had inserted themself into the relationship. Sneaking Around with #34 isn't just about Imogen and Warner though. Ford is very much a part of this story, and it was really interesting to read. Even more so when things were realized.

Absolutely enjoyed this book, and cannot wait to see how the next book plays out since we were able to see snippets of it being setup.

Thank you for taking time to read my thoughts on Sneaking Around with #34. I hope that you'll go pick up this best friend's sibling, second chance romance book! Imogen and Warner are pretty phenomenal.

Sneaking Around With #34 by Piper Rayne is now live!

I have a reputation for being tight-lipped. You learn quick when you become a professional hockey player to be guarded with the media, so I've worked hard to cover up the mistakes of my youth.

But when I'm traded to the Florida Fury, where my ex-best friend is the starting right wing, I'm forced to confront my past. Ford and I have a lot of history, especially when it comes to his little sister, Imogen.

My heart still lurches in my chest when I see her.
My hands want to reach out and touch her.
My mouth wants to keep apologizing.

She's the only woman who ever made me want more. But she's also the one who fell victim to my most regrettable decision.

I'm not a believer in fate, but I must be back in her world for a reason. I've fought for everything I've gotten and I'm not backing down from what I know will be the best thing in my life.

Campus God by Jennifer Sucevic {cover reveal}

Jennifer Sucevic has just revealed the cover for Campus God. Campus God is the fourth book in the Campus series, and features the story of Crosby Rhodes.

Release Date: March 29

Crosby Rhodes is considered a god when it comes to Western Wildcats football.

And who knows, he might just be one.  There’s certainly no shortage of girls on campus who agree with the sentiment.  They swoon over his pretty face, dark messy hair, and hard body honed from years of lifting and two-a-day practices.  That alone makes him catnip for the female species.

Add a lip ring and surly disposition to the package and you can understand what all the fuss is about.

Would I be included in that majority?

Hell, no.

As far as I’m concerned, Crosby can eat shit and die.  The guy is a major jerk.  Not to mention, a pain in my assets.  And that’s putting it nicely.  For reasons I’ve never understood, he goes out of his way to humiliate and hurt me.  His barbed comments are always a direct hit before exploding on impact.

I’d love to know what I did to elicit such hatred but that would involve conversing with him and I refuse to do that.  There’s only one more semester before graduation.  Surely, we can get through the next six months without coming to blows.

That’s the hope, anyway.

Which is exactly why I’m thrown off guard when my nemesis pulls me aside and suggests a truce.  Do I necessarily trust him after everything he’s put me through?

Nope.  For the time being, I’ll agree so there can once again be peace in the kingdom all the while keeping him at a firm distance.  Except that turns out to be impossible.  Everywhere I go, there he is.  It’s like I can’t get away from him.  More shocking than that, he’s actually being nice.

If stomping out the underlying attraction that constantly flared to life between us was difficult before, it’s all but impossible now.  But that’s exactly what I’m going to do.  I’ve been burned by one athlete, I’ll be damned if I allow it to happen again.
